The display featured some spectacular hybrid Aloes in full flower. Names to look out for are Aloe Topaz with large orange flower spikes and Aloe Fairy Pink with pale Pink flower spikes. Autum/winter is a great time to check out the different Aloes. So many now flowering and the birds love their nectar filled flowers.

The sales area was very busy on Saturday morning. There were thousands of plants for sale including Echeverias, Euphorbias, Pachypodiums, Kalanchoes, Cacti large and small, Aloes and Agaves to name a few. There were also many of the succulent Bromeliads, Dyckias, Hechtias, Deuterocohnias and the beautiful Orthophytums.

The show benches proved that size dosen't necessarily matter with a small, though very old, well grown Adromischus taking out one of the major awards.

This event is held every long weekend in June at the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens Auditorium in Brisbane, mark it in your diary for 2009, hope to see you there.
